Frequently asked question below, or contact scfunrun@runsocial.com for further assistance.
The run is a video route that takes you through 2.5km of Hong Kong and 2.5km of Singapore. The video is played using the Paofit App. You “play” the video by running on a treadmill. The App has different ways of tracking you (see below).
Your challenge is to complete the full 5km route which is usually about a 30 minute jog. You can run as many laps as you want, but you must complete at least one lap to have officially completed the run.
The App is free and is available at the official Standard Chartered Marathon iTunes Super Room at http://www.itunes.com/scmarathon or by searching App Store.
IMPORTANT: you will not find Paofit if searching with your iPhone. Paofit is currently only available as an iPad or iPad mini App.
You will need to have a valid Standard Chartered @sc.com email address which you must use when signing up to Paofit. If you have one and would like to sign up, please go to the sign-up page here
After you have downloaded the Paofit App onto your iPad, logged in and chosen your avatar, you will be able to see an image of the Standard Charatered Fun Run Video. Provided you are connected to internet you will see a Download link on image – tap this to download the video.
Please note that the video can only be seen when you are logged in to the App.
Paofit is an independent App developer that owns the Paofit App (www.paofit.com). Standard Chartered Bank has no relationship with Paofit other than in mandating them to create the Digital Fun Run.
Just place the iPad on the console of the treadmill, log in to Paofit, select your avatar, select the Standard Chartered Fun Run video, swipe upwards to show the “User Control Panel” (and swipe down to hide it).
In the User Control Panel choose the method of tracking your speed (at the bottom of the User Control Panel). If Bluetooth is not available, choose the Step Sensor. If you then start the treadmill a speed will be recorded by the app and the video will start to move. The faster you run, the faster the video will go.
As you run there will be an avatar of your self in the video. You will not be able to see it because the video is your first person view. However, others will be able to see you and you can see them.
No. You control the treadmill speed as you would normally. The app then tracks the treadmill speed which controls the video playback.
One of three ways:
After you have started the video, swipe the screen upwards to reveal the User Control Panel. At the bottom there are different tracking options.
For now, yes -- only Standard Chartered staff with a valid Standard Chartered e-mail address can download the video. There are plans to make the video available publicly in future albeit not free.
